Okay, you’ve gotten started on LinkedIn and you know how to use the platform to both make connections and gather important information about industry trends.

Your next step? Making sure that you’re presenting yourself effectively on LinkedIn. This lesson will help you build a profile so that you can confidently begin building your new professional community. You’ll learn how to get started with a basic profile, and how to update information as you move through the Discovery, Research, and Implementation stages of your job search. 

Workbook Activities

This lesson covers pages 22-39 in the Evaluate Your Best Opportunities Workbook. You can also use the Take Notes widget to complete these activities.  

  1. Take some time to write or re-write the Headline, About section, Experience section, and Key Skills section of your LinkedIn profile. Review it when you’re done to ensure you are following the guidelines discussed in the video. Make any changes necessary to improve your profile.
  2. Evaluate your LinkedIn brand. Are you following all of the guidelines for a successful Headshot, Banner Photo, Recommendations, and Featured section? Make any changes necessary to improve your brand.
