There are 2 programs of study to help students learn successful job search strategies including: 1) the Academic Careers Pathway program; and 2) the Professional Careers Pathway program.
Aurora also hosts a one-of-a-kind video library where students can watch interviews with PhDs working in all sectors: academia, government, higher education administration, industry, and non-profits.
Aurora’s curriculum is designed to complement your on-campus resources. Our digital resources are available 24/7 for the busy student and postdoc, and our guided curriculum provides students with a foundation for the important in-person workshops and training you offer on campus.

After completing programming in Aurora users will have:

and forever solved the problem of “What can I do with my PhD?” Students will learn how to leverage their education into a new career pathway, so that they can get paid for their skills and experience.

Aurora takes the guesswork out of the job search process. Students learn the step-by-step process of a successful job search — whether in academia or beyond. These research-driven strategies help PhDs avoid common mistakes in failed job searches.

The Skills to Master Job Documents
Students will say goodbye to all the questions they have about academic CVs and professional resumes. They’ll learn how to master job search documents and identify their value to future employers.

Overcome Fear of Career Change
With Aurora’s one-of-a-kind career exploration library, students will leave behind any concerns about nonacademic career pathways. Users can listen to PhDs from their discipline, so that they can get the perspective they need to launch a nonacademic job search.
